Getting started with a 365 project is pretty daunting for me. And honestly, I'm not the best at setting goals and sticking with them. I missed week 1 of the year so I'm starting with week 2.
I don't plan to follow a guide for this project. I'm letting whatever inspires me or catches my eye each day lead me. I'm afraid if I follow a prompt calendar, I'll get frustrated. I'm also not going to share every single photo on my blog, so you'll notice gaps in the dates.
My photography has become so technical. I feel I miss a lot of photo opportunities, or I'll trash a photo because it's not perfectly sharp. And I'm especially bad at documenting my own life with my family. I really hate taking cell phone pics, mostly because I'm bad at it but I also don't like lugging my big camera around. I'm hoping with this project I'll let it go and just have fun with it. Whether it's just a simple snapshot of what's happening during the day or a beautiful moment that I'm able to capture with lovely lighting. I fully anticipate completely hating some of the photos I produce, but also some that I absolutely love.
It's time to break the rules, cut loose, and have fun.

Snow Day
Friday, January 12, 2024
The kids were able to enjoy their snow day before the frigid temps rolled in. We played outside for a bit and Ellie let me do a mini snow photoshoot in the afternoon. She's anxiously waiting for her "Eras" wardrobe to arrive in the mail so we can do her next photoshoot. She's been checking the mail daily. My girl who doesn't usually want her photo taken is finally excited for a session.
Baking Cookies

Ever since Ellie got a taste of white chocolate chip macadamia nut cookies, she's been wanting more. Since it's been super cold, I figured now is the time to make them!
