Nauvoo, Illinois Temple Weddings

I photographed my first Nauvoo wedding in 2022. At first, I wasn't so sure what to expect. But as time has passed, I've become well acquainted with the beautiful town of Nauvoo, Illinois. I love photographing weddings there and it's so fun getting to meet families from across the country. I know a bunch of hidden gems around town for photo spots. If you're needing recommendations, I have them. But sessions almost always start at the temple, depending on how you want your timeline to go. I typically wait at the bottom of the steps for you to exit and you can then begin greeting family members. Here I will spend a little time capturing candid photos of the Bride & Groom interacting with family and friends.

Now that everyone is together, it's the perfect time to get all of the family portraits. A shot list is incredibly helpful. It's not required, but it ensures we get a photo with all of your very important friends and family in the proper groupings. Where around the temple we do your family photos depends on where the sun is hitting. I don't want everyone squinting into the sun. Morning sessions are usually done in the front of the temple, afternoon is typically done in the back of the temple. If you're lucky with a perfect overcast day, we can go anywhere around the temple.

After family photos have been taken, we'll move to the bridal party. This includes the full bridal party all together, bride with the bridesmaids, groom with the groomsmen, and individuals with the bride/groom. And yes, we can have fun at our session if you would like!

Now that all of the must have photos with family and friends are covered, it's time for the important photos of just the Bride & Groom. Is there a special place in Nauvoo you would like photographed in? We'll go there! Some of my couples have been proposed to in Nauvoo, so we revisited that spot. Some really want specific areas of the temple in their photos, we'll be sure to get that. Some prefer playful, some would rather act like the camera wasn't there and keep it candid, while others prefer to keep it simple and posed. This session is all about you.
